After doing a bit of hiking in the Lower 48 throughout the first half of the year, I headed north to Alaska for the summer to explore this vast wilderness. During my time in the Last Frontier I managed to:

• Sail the Inside Passage using the Alaska Marine Highway
  • Sea Kayak in Misty Fiords National Monument
  • Visit Glacier Bay National Park
• Float the entire Yukon River from Whitehorse, Yukon Territory Llewellyn Glacier in British Columbia to the Bering Sea
• Whitewater raft Six Mile River
• Be a tourist in Denali National Park
• Sea kayak in Blackstone Bay and Harriman Fjord, near Whittier
• Backpack through the Brooks Range in Gates of the Arctic National Park, from Anaktuvuk Pass to Wiseman
• Hike up Slim River to Observation Mountain in Kluane National Park (which is actually in the Yukon Territory, Canada)
