
One of my hobbies is endurance sports. This generic label involves long distance running, triathlon, mountain biking, paddling, and just about anything else that involves the outdoors and a long distance physical test of endurance. Unfortunately, God did not give me natural ability for endurance athletics, but He did give me stubbornness to keep trying even when I should probably give up. I am not a natural runner, swimmer, biker, or much else. I must earn each additional mile I move or minute faster I go.
I think is much more appropriate scripture for Christians who are also athletes, as opposed to the more common soaring like eagles and runners in a race ones.
Why do I subject myself to the punishment that is required to do these activities? Good question. If you have to ask though, I probably cannot adequately explain it. Despite that, I have attempted to describe my purpose in this seemingly strange endeavor.
