This is a mostly complete list of everything I took with half way around the world for a two and a half week trip to New Zealand. I bought my food and fuel in country. WARNING: This is not a recommendation or complete list of what you need to bring into the backcountry. You may need more or less. Consult with an experienced backpacker before attempting anything.
